Description

As of 2021, the Emplexador E-50TR & E-100 are now made on a smaller aluminum chassis and refered to as the Emplexador Junior Custom. It now has some new features, including a new two way bright switch instead of just one brite boost!

This provides a mild, more american brite mode and the full big british type on the boost side.

We've also turned the fat boost switch into a fat-off-brite version for added versatility and we now offer an optional Variac switch that lowers voltages to 90 volt wall power, instead of the full 120 volt mode.  The latter provides a softer and earlier breakup, as well lowers the output...allowing you to turn the master up and achieve more power tube distortion at the same output level!!

The 45/50 watt version is tube rectified with a typical GZ34 rectifier tube, whereas the 100 watter is classically solid state recified.

These models feature a traditional hi/lo input with selectable voicing between "Classic" and "Overdrive".  The first mode, labeled "Classic", is based on a 1968 "Plexi" with a few twists thrown in for added versatility! We've added the ability to engage/disengage the "Bright Boost" bypass cap of a Classic '72 era amp as well as a per-EQ fat-off-brite switch to provide added versatility to work with more guitars/styles as possible and covering the classic tones of different eras, too. The master volume control also provides greater drive control in both modes, with no degradation from a non master amp, when dimed.

The second voicing, labeled "Overdrive" is designed to attain the best overdrive sound available with tons of gain and sustain while still offering some ability to have the amp clean up when your guitar is turned down.

It is a 3 gain stage arrangement (compared to 2 in Classic mode) similar to a late JMP or JCM...

Our NEW version has squeezed out more gain than the originals and when adding the different boost switches, there are many varied drive levels available. The original and beyond!!

The Emplexador is so versatile, it's perfect for the Vintage Marshall enthusiast who loves everything that they used to make, but can't decide which model to buy. And, for the live performer or studio player who needs to be able to get those classic "Plexi" sounds and a modern overdrive all in one amplifier. The Emplexador has it all! Available in either 50(TH-E50TR) or 100(TH-E100) watts, these babies scream!

The first Boost switch is labeled "On-Off-Brite", this switch provides the original tweed Bassman mode in the off position.

The Brite modes provides a mild American brightness and some additional gain in the highest frequencies. The On mode boosts all the way down into the midrange, providing the '69-'72 era bright/crunchy response. (Remember the effect is diminished as the gain knob is turned up) The normal Off mode allows the amp to be full and warm at lower gain knob settings.

The second switch is labeled "Fat-Off-Brite" allows the player to choose between the gain structure of a fat JTM 45 (early/mid 60's) and a more treble-y JMP 50 (later 60's sound).

The Off mode is again like a tweed Bassman!

Together with all these tonal options a player can really dial-in almost any classic "British Tone" from clean and bright to hot and overdriven, as well as a 50's American Tweed.
